{"id":1719,"date":"2017-08-20T09:11:46","date_gmt":"2017-08-20T06:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pfaa-iq.com\/?p=1719"},"modified":"2017-08-20T09:11:46","modified_gmt":"2017-08-20T06:11:46","slug":"press-freedom-advocacy-association-in-iraq-condemns-expression-freedom-law-faulty-structure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pfaa-iq.com\/?p=1719","title":{"rendered":"Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq condemns Expression Freedom Law faulty structure"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">23-7-2017<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq expresses its\u00a0condemnation\u00a0and strong denial concerning the latest\u00a0amendments that were made by the ad hoc committees working on the law on Freedom of Expression and the right to Peaceful Demonstration.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">the Association confirmed, after\u00a0interviewing a number of\u00a0concerned\u00a0NGOs \u00a0representatives, MPs,\u00a0journalists, and members of Human Rights\u00a0Parliamentarian\u00a0<wbr \/>committee, that there is an essential disagreement about item number seven of the law that requires the permission of certain public bodies among political blocs.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">At the time that the association calls upon\u00a0<\/span>Parliamentarian Presidential Committee to withdraw the law from its agenda and give it more time for settling disputes, it invites all those concerned being NGOs, journalists or Human Rights activists to block passing the law that is burdened with too many gaps and faults by all peaceful means.<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">the association would like to point out that some\u00a0amendments were made according to the call of street, and the vision of related NGOs, but still it fell short of \u00a0changing the seventh item that authorizes the administrative unit&#8217;s Head to\u00a0reject protests or demonstrating.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">the Association also expresses its\u00a0gratefulness to all MPs who backed the public&#8217;s will, in spite of their blocs&#8217;
