Inews and\nAsia satellite channels\u2019 cadres were subjected to an attack during a public\nstand in Zubair district in Basrah, on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ehab Najim, Asia correspondent, told Press Freedom Advocacy Association\nin Iraq: \u201cI was on duty to cover a\npublic stand in Zubair, Basrah, and when my colleague Amin Alsilmy from Inews, was\nshooting the stand that was about to recite the national anthem, we were\nsurprised by one of the stand\u2019s organizers who began to push him away aggressively\n. Another colleague, Hasan Sabah, from Inews, tried to intervene along with me\nto understand what was going on but the tone of the argument started to rise.\nMembers of the Municipality council interfered as they grabbed the coordinator\naway. But after the stand was over the coordinator continued his aggressive\ntone and repeated threats against all of us\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq considers the abovementioned\nincident a clear hostility, in spite of it being carried out individually, but\nthe same conduct is adopted by the VIPs guards, security elements and\ncoordinators repeatedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The association condemns the continuing violations that are directed\nagainst the media persons during coverage and demands that the administrative\nauthority of Zubair to track the incident and hold the assailant accountable\nand to prevent such incidents in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
