Anti-riot\nforces in Basra banned a number of media channels from covering the\ndemonstrations that started from Alashar area and attacked AP correspondent,\nHaider Aljourany this Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aljourany\ntold Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq that he and the rest of his\ncolleagues were prevented from covering the aggressions that the protestors\nendured today in Alashar area in Basra. He added that he was surprised to be\nforced back by members of the anti-riot forces as they confiscated his equipment leading to\ntheir damage and he was forced to hand over the memory ; his belongings weren\u2019t\nreturned until the interference by other officers on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Press\nFreedom Advocacy Association in Iraq condemns the attacks that our colleagues\nhave sustained in Basra since these incidents recorded a rise in the province\nespecially those related to the protests and carried out by security forces\nthat aren\u2019t deployed according to the orders of operations in command that aim\nto deliberately obstruct such prohibition.\n\nThe\nAssociation demands that Basra Operations in Command and Governor issue their\nrelated orders and hold any obstructing individual responsible for these impediments.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
