{"id":3631,"date":"2019-11-27T11:18:36","date_gmt":"2019-11-27T08:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pfaa-iq.com\/?p=3631"},"modified":"2019-12-03T11:20:19","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T08:20:19","slug":"dijlah-channel-closed-down-by-cmc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pfaa-iq.com\/?p=3631","title":{"rendered":"Dijlah Channel closed down by CMC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">27\/11\/2010<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">Joint security forces from the interior\nand National security, accompanied by a team from the Communications and Media\nCommission, stormed the headquarters of Dijlah channel on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">According to a number of colleagues\nworking in the channel, the force raided the channel after midnight, and disconnected\nall the broadcasting equipment, and after contacts by the channel&#8217;s management,\nthe Presidential Regiment that is in charge of securing the area, reached the\nsite and detained the joint force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">Shortly after the raid, the Presidential Regiment\nreceived the order to officially close the channel by the security force that\nstormed the channel, accordingly, the channel was closed and its employees were\nasked to leave immediately, after the confiscation of a transmitter, a server pc\nthat transfers material, a surveillance camera and a special device for mobile\nchips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">Press Freedom Advocacy Association in\nIraq clarified on different occasions that the decisions of the Communications\nand Media Commission are not based on any judicial grounds, and that the\nviolation of the regulations they invoke applies to dozens of satellite\nchannels and media bodies, which indicates the selectivity of the commission,\nwhich by it loses its independence that is stipulated in the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">The arbitrary closure does not allow the\nauthority to confiscate any of the equipment, which is a flagrant violation of\nthe commission&#8217;s own law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">Press Freedom Advocacy Association, which\nstrongly condemns the intrusion of the satellite channel by a security force,\nas it violates the Constitution, declares its solidarity with the cadres of the\nchannel, and holds the President of the Republic, being the protector of the constitution,\nresponsible for the setback of the freedom of press in the country, which is\nguaranteed constitutionally without showing any decisive attitude to prevent continuing\nabuses and restrictions imposed upon the press and journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">The association calls on the free world\nto protect the remaining freedom of information and press in Iraq, especially\nsince the Communications and Media Commission decided in its latest book to\nshut down nine satellite channels and five radio stations, and warned many other\nmedia outlets, which sets a dangerous precedent in Iraq, which has consistently\nrejected all calls aiming to overthrow the democratic system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>27\/11\/2010 Joint security forces from the interior and National security, accompanied by a team from the Communications and Media Commission, stormed the headquarters of Dijlah channel on Tuesday evening.
