R<\/span><\/span>uz<\/span><\/span> News correspondent Mohammed Hassan Ibrahim was injured <\/span><\/span>during<\/span><\/span> the protest sit-in in <\/span><\/span>Sulaimani<\/span><\/span>a<\/span><\/span> province on Sunday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The injured <\/span><\/span>told <\/span><\/span>Press Freedom<\/span><\/span> Advocacy<\/span><\/span>Associaion<\/span><\/span> in Iraq <\/span><\/span>that<\/span><\/span> he was shot while covering the demonstrations that started in the <\/span><\/span>District<\/span><\/span>, protesting the deteriorating economic and service conditions and delaying the payment of salaries in the province, adding that the bullet hit him in the back and caused minor injuries.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammed said the protesters helped him and provide<\/span><\/span>d him with the necessary First Aid<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the time that <\/span><\/span>Press Freedom<\/span><\/span> Advocacy Association<\/span><\/span> in Iraq wishes safety to the fellow journalist, <\/span><\/span>it considers <\/span><\/span>the \u00a0incident<\/span><\/span> a clear violation of the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of journalistic and media work<\/span><\/span> in the country<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The association also calls on the authorities in the region to stop using force against protesters and journalists, and reminds media cadres of the need to exercise caution while on protest grounds and to <\/span><\/span>limit<\/span><\/span> action within<\/span><\/span> safe spaces.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
