Police officers in al-<\/span><\/span>Saqour<\/span><\/span> checkpoint <\/span><\/span>prevented a reporter and cameraman from entering Anbar province to perform their work <\/span><\/span>Thursday<\/span><\/span> morning.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Press Freedom<\/span><\/span> Advocacy Association in Iraq<\/span><\/span> learned from colleagues in the channel that their correspondent Mohammed Al-<\/span><\/span>Farid<\/span><\/span> was with <\/span><\/span>cameraman<\/span><\/span> Alaa<\/span><\/span> Jabbar this morning heading towards the city of <\/span><\/span>Habbaniyah<\/span><\/span>in Anbar, to highlight the recreational places in the area and <\/span><\/span>its <\/span><\/span>security, and as soon as they arrived at the entrances to the province <\/span><\/span>; Al-<\/span><\/span>Suqour<\/span><\/span> checkpoint<\/span><\/span>, the police officers <\/span><\/span>denied <\/span><\/span>them<\/span><\/span> entrance<\/span><\/span> and coverage, and demanded a book from the Anbar operations command to allow them to enter the province, although they had told them that they were journalists and <\/span><\/span>presented their IDs<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While condemning the ban on staff members from their work, Press Freedom <\/span><\/span>Advocacy Association in Iraq considers such actions as <\/span><\/span>a violation of the principles of freedom of journalism in the country.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The association calls on <\/span><\/span>A<\/span><\/span>nbar’s security leaders to <\/span><\/span>enable<\/span><\/span> press and media <\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span> carry<\/span><\/span>ing<\/span><\/span> out their work <\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span>conveying the latest security situation on ground, cooperating with them to facilitate the performance of their duties, the need to abide by the constitution and the principles of the law, which allow<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span> the press to work without any restrictions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
