The Media and Communications <\/span><\/span>Commission<\/span><\/span> (<\/span><\/span>MCC<\/span><\/span>) has strongly banned many Iraqi satellite channels from covering the <\/span><\/span>Arbain<\/span><\/span> visit ceremony in Karbala.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Press Freedom <\/span><\/span>Advocacy Association in Iraq <\/span><\/span>learned from its representative in Karbala, and a number of fellow journalists, that the <\/span><\/span>commission<\/span><\/span> banned all satellite channels that did not renew <\/span><\/span>their<\/span><\/span> license<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>, and pursued the <\/span><\/span>vehicles<\/span><\/span> of live broadcasting (SNG), and suspended it because of the failure to renew the broadcasting licenses, and pay the fees of the frequencies granted to it by the <\/span><\/span>commission<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Colleagues report that some satellite channels have not been alerted and <\/span><\/span>were <\/span><\/span>surprised by <\/span><\/span>this action<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq <\/span><\/span>affirms the <\/span><\/span>commissions’<\/span><\/span> right to meet the fees of the spectrum, calling on the commission to inform the satellite channels about the type of procedures followed, in addition <\/span><\/span>not to exercise<\/span><\/span> the political mood in prosecuting those who have refrained from paying dues.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The association also calls on the security services in Karbala to allow journalists to convey the <\/span><\/span>reality of events<\/span><\/span>, away from the administrative procedure adopted by the commission.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
