Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq declares supporting the cadre of Alsabah Iraqi daily journal after the fault issued in the publication concerning the three Deputies of Iraqi presidency.
The association expresses its concern due to the rage that was directed against the staff that three of them had their work frozen as a response to the condemnations and complaints raised from the MPS’ offices, on the background of a statement that says all three of them were called to Iraqi justice.
The association stresses upon the professionalism of investigations and not to engage in any unprecedented disciplinary actions applied by Iraqi Media Network. It also declares its astonishment towards the aggressive conduct of the political parties against the journal that confessed it was a mistake, and issued an apology for what happened describing it as an intentional fault and this is the applied procedure by all media press institutes in such cases.
Therefor the association stresses on adopting applied procedures and not to over react to a certain incident. it also declares its moral and legal support to all colleagues who have been held accountable for this mistake and would continue doing so in case of any legal consequences that might harm their career.
