Reuters cameraman bombed in Kirkuk

Anonymous militants threw a bomb upon the home of (Ako Rachid), Reuter’s cameraman in Kirkuk. The coordinator of Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq said that the home of our colleague Ako Rachid was attacked at 3:00 am by a bomb that exploded in front of his home in Shorjah area in Kirkuk that was thrown by anonymous militants whom escaped the site immediately. Rachid said that his children are suffering from different disturbances due to the bomb attack and he confirmed that he had no enemies and never received a threat.

Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq considers this offense a dangerous sign of deteriorating press and media freedoms in Iraq. Especially in disputed areas. And the association demands that an instant allegation be opened to investigate the incident to control such acts in the future.
