Cameraman Hussein Al-isawi was attacked by the bodyguards of Prime Minister Hayder Alibady last Monday.
Colleague Aziz Alrubayii told Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq that the aggression took place after the press conference that joined Iraqi Governors.
One of the PM bodyguards attacked the cameraman who was shooting in whole- view to document the PM’s visit, and sophisticated his camera. The incident attracted the attention and immediately stopped. As a result an officer gave orders that batteries should be uninstalled or camera’s lens be directed to the ground.
At the time that Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq condemns this act, it considers all promises made by the Prime Minister to the press community in Iraq related to starting a new era and terminating any acts of aggression subjected by security and officials’ personnel.
The Association calls the PM to apologize for this irresponsible action that was made by his personal guards.
