Bakhtiyar Haddad, correspondent for the French Le Figaro journal was killed in the western part of Mosul after being targeted by a number of explosive charges that also sustained three other French journalists with wounds.
Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq learnt that Haddad carries an Iraqi ID, and was killed in a location between Bab Sinjar and Raas Aljada districts. The incident took place during his coverage on the battles escorted by Anti- Terrorism body, and the explosion of a dual charge on site.
At the time that the Associations conveys its heart-felt consolidation towards the incident it urges all press workers to be careful during escorting security forces, since military procedures should be sought even in areas deemed safe. It is noted that lately Daash has targeted media personell.
