MCC threats NRT for Bashir Show contract

Media And Communications Commission threatened to take legal procedures against NRT satellite Channel demanding to be acquainted with the nature of contract that was signed with the talk show: Bashir Show. The letter issued by MCC listed a number of violations and defilements carried out by NRT that it claimed to be contradicting with valid regulations of Media performance in Iraq. The violations are highlighted according to (Applied Media Broadcasting Code) if the aforementioned program is broadcasted. Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq supports the channel and confirms that law no. 65 that was issued by the civil governor Paul Bremer in 2004, does not authorize the commission to close down a media body, but it is limited to capturing violations only and submitting them to court. MCC holds no right in closing down any media body under any circumstance. These constitutional violations were exercised under Nouri Almaliki’s term and had no legal background. The Association warns from threatening press freedom Iraq since it is a clear violation to Iraqi constitution.
