Manager of newsroom in Kurdish Rudaw Channel Shifaa Kurdi was killed and cameraman Younus Mustafa injured due to an explosion of an underground mine planted by ISIS in the cemetery of the latter’s dead. The incident took place In Aladhba area in the western part of Mosul. It is to be mentioned that security members were near the journalist when the blast erupted resulting in killing and injuring a number of them.
At the time that Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq conveys its heartfelt condolences to the press family, especially Rudaw channel, it calls upon all press members to be cautious and precise concerning the moves taken during any coverage, being in the touch lines with ISIS or on the left side of Mosul that needs further efforts of demining and clearance.
