TV channel INews Correspondent was denied access to Karbala provincial Council for the second time on Tuesday..
(Haidar Hadi), a reporter for INews, told Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq that the reception of Karbala provincial council prevented him from entering the building as he was going to obtain a permit from a member of the Council, adding that he was “blocked for the second time after he asked the new Governor Nassif al-Khattabi What the Council would provide the Karbalaei citizen and he was surprised to be accused of deception!
The Association condemns the selective manner in which Haidar Hadi has been subjected to; the deliberate prevention and indictment of the media channel that he represents by Mr. Nassif Al-Khattabi, and considers this a violation of the principle of the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of journalistic work.
The Association calls on the provincial council to rescind the decision to ban INews correspondent.
