An Iraqi media presenter, Ahmed Shukri, had his car burned in front of his home in Baghdad by unknown assailants.
Shukri told the Press Freedom Advocacy Association that he was surprised to see his car burned, without knowing who set it on fire.
Shukri also denied to the association that there were any personal differences with the people who burned his car.
Shukri is currently working as a producer and presenter of various programs for Al-Iraqiya TV.
At the time that the Association wishes for the journalist’s safety, it considers the incident as one of the methods of intimidation and pressure to prevent journalists from performing their duties.
The association calls on the Ministry of Interior and the competent authorities to speed up the detection of the people or those behind the incident and to provide the necessary security and protection to journalists.
